Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute)

In it, the composer returned to the form of singspiel: an opera with spoken dialogue. <BR><BR> The libretto was written by the German playwright, actor and singer Emanuel Schikaneder, with whose theatre troupe, performing at the Theater auf der Wieden in Vienna, Mozart was in friendly contact. Soon after its premiere in September 1791, Die Zauberflöte became a colossal hit.
